Conversational AI found the lot and price behind a $300 reconciliation variance.
If your team reconciles positions every morning, this is how Tim at Broadview Group used conversational AI to find what was behind a variance nobody could figure out.
Outcome: It zeroed in on the exact lot and price: about 25 cents was causing the $300 variance, as Tim reported.
“…I never would have found it on my own without, you know, Claude being able to find it.”
Before
A daily reconciliation that came out about $300 off.
Every morning, Tim's team reconciles its positions to the PDF statements from its brokers. A variance at the bottom of the file shows how much they're off. Then a pricing issue left it only about $300 off, and for three or four days, nobody could figure out why.
What he did
He gave conversational AI the files.
Tim gave conversational AI two or three days of reconciliation files from Excel and three PDF statements. He asked it to figure out what was causing the variance day over day, and pointed it to the statements the numbers should tie to.
What changed
It zeroed in on the exact lot and price.
It worked for about 30 minutes. Among what Tim described as “like hundreds, thousands of transactions, millions of dollars going back and forth,” it zeroed in on the exact lot and price: about 25 cents was causing the $300 variance. Tim shared it on a B43 coaching call.
What's next
Next: his weekly dashboard.
On the same call, Tim also shared a drawback: a weekly dashboard he builds from an Excel model into PowerPoint and then PDF, where getting conversational AI to format the tables the way he wants has been hard. The coach built a live skill-building demo around that kind of workflow.
